Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000
Charlestown Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 12-Month Administrative Assistant to join its team. This position serves as the primary point of contact for parents, students, staff and visitors throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will combine strong administrative skills with a warm, welcoming presence, thriving in a fast-paced environment that requires patience, empathy, flexibility and excellent organizational abilities. This role calls for a highly detail-oriented and technically proficient individual who can multitask effectively while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and clear, professional communication.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office and Customer Service Support

Provide a friendly and professional first point of contact for visitors, parents, and students in the front office

Answer phones and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner

Demonstrate a genuine enjoyment of working with children while fostering a warm, patient and supportive environment

Support emergency procedures and communication when required
Student and Attendance Support

Manage daily student attendance records, handle tardy/early dismissal of students and communicate with parents regarding student absences

Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive student and staff information at all times

Support data entry and updates in student information systems
Administrative Support

Assist Principal and front office staff with scheduling appointments, events and meetings

Prepare forms, reports, letters, newsletters, and other documents as needed
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Prior administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a school setting

Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
