Help People Encounter God Through Worship
This is a part time position (9-10 hours weekly) that has opportunity to grow over time.
North Point Church is a growing church with a mission to make disciples who make disciples. We are seeking a spiritually mature and musically gifted Worship Director who can lead our congregation in worship and help our volunteer team to succeed.
At North Point, we want worship to be joyful, expectant, and transformative. We believe worship is more than singing songs or producing an excellent performance. It is helping people respond to who God is and what He has done through Jesus.
Our services welcome spiritually curious people while providing meaningful opportunities for believers to encounter God and respond to the Holy Spirit. We value musical excellence, but our primary measure of success is a congregation that is participating—not simply watching.
What You’ll Do
The Worship Director will:
- Lead worship during both Sunday services.
- Direct a weekly worship team rehearsal.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan songs, transitions, and service flow.
- Recruit, schedule, encourage, and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists.
- Create a worship environment that helps the congregation participate.
- Pursue musical and technical excellence that removes distractions.
- Prepare music, schedules, and team communication through Planning Center.
- Help develop additional worship leaders and strengthen the worship ministry.
- Participate in staff communication and occasional church-wide events.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has a growing relationship with Jesus and demonstrates spiritual maturity.
- Agrees with North Point’s mission, beliefs, values, and worship philosophy.
- Can lead worship vocally and from an instrument.
- Has strong musical knowledge and can effectively direct a band.
- Leads with warmth, humility, confidence, and authenticity.
- Enjoys working with volunteers and helping others grow.
- Communicates clearly, prepares consistently, and follows through.
- Understands how to lead worship for both mature believers and people exploring faith.
- Is comfortable using—or willing to learn—Planning Center and multi-tracks.
- Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive staff team.
Formal ministry or music education is helpful but not required.
Why North Point?
You’ll join a healthy, fun, and supportive staff team that genuinely enjoys serving together. We celebrate wins, laugh often, communicate honestly, and help one another succeed.
You will not be expected to build this ministry alone. North Point already has committed volunteers, ministry systems, equipment, and leadership support in place. We are a growing church where your ideas, creativity, and leadership can make a meaningful difference.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced worship leader or an emerging leader who is ready to take greater responsibility and grow in ministry leadership.
