Arizona Epoxy Systems (“AES”, or “the Company”) is a fast-paced commercial and industrial-focused seamless flooring installation contractor with more than 30 years in the business. The Estimator will oversee the take-off, costing, and bidding of resinous flooring projects for our commercial / industrial customers and general contractors, working in close coordination with Regional Sales Directors, customers, and the AES Operations Team. This position will be approximately 65% contract analysis, take-off, and cost work, 35% RFP response, relationship building, and bid-work.
AES, together with Epoxy Coating Specialists in Kansas City and Desco Floor Systems in Indianapolis, comprise Sunflower Industrial (“Sunflower”). Sunflower is one of the nation’s largest self-performing commercial/industrial resinous and polish flooring installers, with AES operating as the West Region Office. This position will report to the AES General Manager and will work in close collaboration with other estimators across the platform.
Primary Responsibilities:

Effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders, including customers, Sales Directors, Project Managers, operations and installation teams to determine project scope, flooring system options, and budget

Actively search and track bid opportunities through online bidding tools and general contractor solicitations, such as Construct Connect

Accurately measure and calculate the square footage and linear footage of commercial spaces for resinous flooring and polished concrete projects

Determine material requirements based on project specifications, including flooring systems, thicknesses, and colors
- Accurately calculate labor costs considering preparation work, installation complexity, mobilizations, etc.
- Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for customers which include project timelines, material, labor, and overhead costs
- Utilize estimating software, such as Procore, to generate accurate and professional estimates
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field (preferred but not required)

Estimating experience

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficiency with estimating software for on-screen takeoff tools, and construction management software

Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel skills

Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications and perform takeoffs

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel

Ability to travel regionally and accommodate overnight travel as required

Preferred experience with Resinous and Polished Floors, or Division 3 (Concrete) or Division 9 (Walls, Ceilings, Floors)
