American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Multi Trauma Unit (PCU) position at a Level 1 trauma center in Denver, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Works in a 20-bed Multi Trauma Unit (MTU) within a Level 1 trauma center

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Patient ratio is 1:4 with a charge nurse free of patients
-
Unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2 techs on night shift
-
Equipment used includes ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes
-
EMR system is Meditech/CPN; prior Meditech experience is preferred
-
13-week contract
-
Active CO or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience required

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital PCU experience required

Experience managing chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and DOB required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted

One professional reference required

Typical procedures include chest tube placement, bedside bronchoscopy, and management of chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction

Highly acute patient population with complex and interesting trauma cases

Unit is known for strong teamwork, supportive charge nurses, and engaged physician staff

Tech support is available on both day and night shifts

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Prior Meditech experience is a plus and may be prioritized during consideration
