Jeffco Public Schools is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team. In this role, you'll help design, implement, and support the enterprise network that serves more than 69,000 students and 14,000 employees across one of Colorado's largest school districts.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving network performance, and helping shape the future of our infrastructure. You'll work on everything from enterprise routing and wireless to voice, cloud connectivity, and network security while partnering with teams across IT to keep critical systems running.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and Metropolitan Optical Ethernet (MOE) infrastructure.
- Support Cisco routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and firewall technologies.
- Administer and optimize Cisco CUCM, Microsoft Teams Voice, and other voice services.
- Troubleshoot complex network, wireless, and telephony issues across the district.
- Help improve network performance, resiliency, and security.
- Support Azure and AWS networking, including hybrid connectivity.
- Work closely with Information Security on segmentation, access controls, and other security initiatives.
- Mentor Network Administrators and serve as a technical resource for the team.
- Contribute to modernization projects, automation efforts, and continuous improvement.
- Document network standards, configurations, and operational procedures.
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
- 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
- Experience with enterprise wireless and VoIP environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, and QoS.
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies.
- Familiarity with Azure or AWS networking.
- Experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or GitHub is a plus.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work collaboratively across teams.
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) is required. Certifications such as CCNP, CWNA, Meraki, JNCIA/JNCIS, or ITIL are helpful but not required.

Salary: $92,387–$110,709 annually, based on experience and qualifications
