Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, the Server Administrator provides campus-wide support of the
Universityís wired and wireless networks and associated systems. The role is part of Information Technology and
has responsibility for the support of network connectivity, network security and other areas in support of the
overall IT operation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide configuration, installation, and support of network hardware and network management software
- Provide management of wireless infrastructure consisting of WLAN controllers, wireless APs and network
access control systems
- Perform regular network health monitoring, proactively identify problems, and provide effective solutions
- Assist Network Administrator in maintaining network security in alignment with NIST SP 800-171
- Manage and document network systems, operational procedures and monitor hardware inventory for
network devices
- Assist customers with network connectivity issues and escalate problems when appropriate
- Communicate and collaborate well with team members Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- 1-2 years of Information Technology experience.
- Network administration experience.
- Experience configuring layer 3 switches.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and associated routing protocols.
- Problem Solving and troubleshooting skills, including ability to perform root cause analysis design
preventative activities.
- Takes responsibility for and shows initiative in learning how to use/manage systems more effectively.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of customer support experience in higher education is preferred.
- Experience in report writing.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.

Physical Demands
