The Painter & Sander is responsible for preparing and finishing various cabinet components to ensure exceptional craftsmanship and adherence to company standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency with both hand and power tools, and the ability to execute high-quality paint and finish applications. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to the creation of beautifully finished products.
- Preparation: Prepare surfaces of cabinets for painting and sanding, ensuring all materials are clean and free of defects.
- Sanding: Perform sanding of cabinet surfaces to achieve a smooth finish, using hand tools and power sanders.
- Painting: Apply paint, stain, or finishes to cabinets according to specifications and quality standards. Ensure even coverage and proper application techniques.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for consistency and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
- Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment in good working conditions, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in painting and sanding cabinetry or similar woodworking projects.
- Familiarity with various painting techniques and materials.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials and finished products weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in a workshop or manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- The position is based in a manufacturing or workshop setting, where exposure to loud noises, dust, and machinery is common.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and dust masks will be provided and must be worn at all times.
