The PRI Wellness Corps supports garden sites across North Carolina, including its flagship wellness gardens in Aurora. Additional sites include Briggs Community Gardens in Raleigh, Peacehaven Farms in Whitsett, Hesed House in Lincolnton, Moore County Montessori School in Southern Pines, Arts of the Pamlico in Washington, NC. Additional sites are anticipated. Slots include three-quarter time (1200 hours), half-time (900 hours), quarter-time (450 hours), and minimum-time (300 hours). Position openings per site, feature Aurora, 2 TQT slots, Hesed House, one TQT slot, Briggs Community Garden, one TQT slot, Peacehaven one TQT slot and 2 MT slots, Arts of the Pamlico, one QT slot. Other slots may open up based on expanding or adding sites.
Member Duties : Member duties will vary across each garden site, assisting host site staff in one of more of the following; *Members may designing, building and sustaining community wellness gardens. *Depending on season, member garden activities will include preparation, planting, garden maintaining and harvesting. Additional activities include bed preparation, planting, weeding, mulching, watering, pruning and general *Members may teach and/or guide and work with community groups and individual community members to advance wellness events and activities *Members may help develop or be involved in social media platform (webpage, FB page, Instagram) to advance principles and tenets of wellness and healthy living/eating.
