Duties
- Assist with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions by processing invoices, payments, and collections efficiently.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Help prepare financial reports, including statements aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Manage payroll processing tasks and maintain detailed records of debits & credits within various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial software tools.
- Contribute to governmental and non-profit accounting activities by understanding specific reporting requirements and maintaining precise documentation.
- Support budgeting activities by assisting with data entry, expense tracking, and variance analysis to aid in financial planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with bookkeeping tasks using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Experience with payroll processing, tax experience, and accounts payable/receivable management preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
