: Sous Chef – Aloft at 500 Pearl

Ellicott Hotels is seeking a highly motivated individual who has an eye for detail to join our team as a Sous Chef. You will play a key role at our Aloft Hotel located at 500 Pearl Buffalo, NY 14202. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting our executive chef along with our line cooks, working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. You will be responsible for creating and executing dishes from 3 different a la carte menus. If you are a leader with excellent culinary skills, who can bring in a creative twist to our dishes, then this is the job for you!

- Assist Executive Chef with menu development and costing
-Oversee quality execution of 3 a la carte menus for 4 different revenue generating outlets
- Source and order food
- Maintain proper food cost percentages by managing inventory, preventing overstocking, shortages, and waste
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met
- Schedule, train, and supervise kitchen staff
- Assist with inventory management and control
- Oversee kitchen operations including plating, timing, and workflow
- Responsible for execution of banquet events and à la carte service
- Step into Executive Chef duties as needed
-Must be available weekends and holidays, flexible schedule.
-3+ years of experience in high-volume banquet kitchens (preferred)
-Strong creativity to bring into the workplace
-Must be punctual and reliable
-Willingness to take pride in the job with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Job Types: Full-time
Pay: $65,000-$80,000 plus possible bi-yearly bonus
