This Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position is hybrid remote and located in Atlanta, GA region
Job Summary
Our patient population consists of older adults residing in skilled nursing facilities. The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and medication management. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices and treatments.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following areas:
- EMR systems for efficient patient management.
- Familiarity with geriatrics and behavioral health is beneficial.
- Experience in various medical environments nursing homes, assisted living facilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, telehealth practices, and utilization management will enhance the candidate's effectiveness in this role.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Georgia.
