We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including long-term care, assisted living environments, and home care situations. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents by promoting their independence and dignity while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support residents in medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Ensure resident rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Document care provided and report any changes in resident condition to the supervising nurse or caregiver.
- Participate in training sessions related to memory care and direct support techniques.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in long-term care, group homes, or personal care homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and best practices in assisted living settings.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques is a plus.
- Ability to perform medication administration tasks accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
