Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity in accordance with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct regular assessments of child development to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through regular updates and meetings.
- Manage classroom routines, including lesson planning, circle time activities, and transitions to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Incorporate specialized techniques such as Montessori or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and welfare at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Expertise in curriculum development that includes literacy education, math, physical education, and early intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of child development principles and childhood education best practices.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques that foster positive social interactions.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience supporting children with diverse learning requirements.
- Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, standardized testing administration, and maintaining accurate records.
