We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commercial HVAC Installation Foreman to lead installation crews and oversee daily field operations on assigned commercial projects.
The Installation Foreman serves as the primary field leader responsible for coordinating manpower, materials, tools, equipment, subcontractors, and jobsite workflow. This position ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and Greater Comfort’s quality standards.
The successful candidate will have extensive commercial HVAC installation experience, proven field leadership abilities, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with installation team members, project managers, general contractors, customers, inspectors, and other project partners.

Crew Leadership: Direct and coordinate the daily activities of commercial HVAC installation crews, assign work responsibilities, establish priorities, and monitor progress.

Project Execution: Oversee the installation of commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, air-handling equipment, ductwork, piping, refrigerant lines, controls, and related mechanical components.

Jobsite Planning: Review project plans, drawings, specifications, schedules, and other documentation to ensure field work is properly planned and completed according to project requirements.

Manpower Coordination: Evaluate labor requirements, organize crew assignments, and communicate manpower needs or scheduling concerns to the Installation Project Manager.

Materials and Equipment: Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, tools, lifts, vehicles, and subcontractor activities to support efficient project execution.

Quality Control: Conduct ongoing field inspections to verify installation accuracy, workmanship, code compliance, and adherence to company and manufacturer standards.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve jobsite obstacles, installation conflicts, material shortages, and other field conditions that could affect project quality, cost, or schedule.

Safety Leadership: Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, PPE standards, and safe work practices on all assigned jobsites.

Safety Communication: Conduct or support toolbox talks, jobsite safety meetings, hazard assessments, and other safety-awareness activities.

Documentation: Complete accurate and timely daily reports, manpower tracking, material requests, project updates, job photographs, inventory records, and other required field documentation.

Project Communication: Maintain consistent communication with project management regarding job progress, schedule risks, material needs, field changes, and project concerns.

Team Development: Mentor, train, and provide hands-on technical guidance to installers, apprentices, helpers, and developing crew members.

Performance Accountability: Establish clear expectations for crew members and address productivity, workmanship, attendance, communication, or conduct concerns promptly and professionally.

Customer Service: Represent Greater Comfort professionally when working with customers, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

Project Closeout: Support inspections, equipment start-up, testing, punch-list completion, documentation, and other project closeout requirements.

Cost Awareness: Monitor labor productivity, material usage, equipment utilization, and jobsite resources to reduce waste, limit rework, and support project profitability.

Experience: Ten or more years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred.

Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading commercial installation crews, coordinating field operations, or serving as a lead installer or foreman is strongly preferred.

License: Valid Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License preferred and may be required based on assigned work.

Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, ductwork, piping, refrigerant systems, equipment setting, and installation practices.

Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, schedules, and related project documentation.

Safety Knowledge: Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, jobsite safety practices, PPE standards, and safe operation of tools, lifts, and equipment.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, maintain accountability, coach employees, and resolve field challenges.

Organization: Ability to coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and competing project priorities.

Communication: Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills.

Technology: Ability to use mobile devices, job-management software, email, and digital reporting systems.

Driving: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding commercial HVAC installation work, lift and carry materials and equipment, climb ladders, and work at heights.

Work Environment: Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, active construction environments, mechanical rooms, rooftops, elevated spaces, and confined work areas.

Travel: Ability to travel regionally and support overnight project assignments when required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, licensing, and demonstrated leadership ability.
