Duties
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift
- Provide friendly and professional customer service by assisting shoppers with product questions, offering product demos, and upselling when appropriate
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring all retail sales transactions are processed swiftly and correctly
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure products are well-presented and accessible to customers
- Assist with inventory management by stocking new products and participating in periodic stock counts
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls to appropriate departments
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring compliance with store standards
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued to connect effectively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and performing retail math calculations accurately
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for potential growth opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies will help enhance customer experiences
