Position Overview
The Sunday Evening Preschool Music Teacher provides a fun, safe, and engaging environment for preschool-aged children (5 and under) during Sunday evening programming from 4:30–6:00 PM. This position will lead children in simple songs, rhythm activities, music games, and other age-appropriate activities designed to help them have fun while developing an appreciation for music. No formal musical experience is required, just a love for children, a positive attitude, and a willingness to have fun!
This position also offers opportunities for additional hours, including serving as a Sunday Morning Nursery Teacher from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and helping with special church events throughout the year.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for preschool-aged children.
- Lead children in simple songs, music activities, rhythm sticks, movement, and fun music games.
- Prepare and facilitate age-appropriate activities each Sunday evening.
- Engage with children through play, conversation, music, and hands-on activities.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all church child-safety and ministry policies.
- Communicate with parents and ministry staff as needed.
- Attend Sunday evening programming consistently and arrive prepared to serve.
- Assist with special events and programs when additional hours are available.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
- No musical training or experience required.
- Enjoys working with preschool-aged children.
- Dependable, responsible, patient, and energetic.
- Comfortable leading children in fun, interactive activities.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
