Schooner Learning Academy, a locally owned child care center in the Logan Square/Bucktown neighborhoods of Chicago is hiring for a Full Time Preschool Teacher position.

Pay: $20-$23, based on qualifications and experience
Responsibilities
- Developing current lesson plans based on school curriculum
- Meeting the individual needs of the children by interacting with them to support play and exploration.
- Communicating with parents in a professional and consistent way
- Creating a positive learning environment in the classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level.

Minimum Requirements
- Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six OR
- Child Development Associate Certification
- The applicant must be able to adhere to all Department of Child and Family Services requirements including being background checked.
- Professional, mature, and responsible. Our parents and students completely rely on their caretakers and coworkers, so punctuality and reliability are important.
- COVID vaccinated or willingness to be vaccinated before start date.
- Proof of up to date physical, TB Test, and immunizations.
- SIDS, SBS and Mandated Reporter trainings completed
Preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Food Manager's License or Food Handlers Training Certificate

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
