The Role
Marianne’s Ice Cream is hiring a Route Delivery Driver / Warehouse Order Picker to support our wholesale distribution operation.
This is a structured, route-based delivery and warehouse role. You will operate a Sprinter van or box truck on local routes, completing deliveries of ice cream to restaurants, scoop shops, and wholesale partners across Santa Cruz and the greater Bay Area.
We are looking for someone with professional delivery experience, consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in both delivery and warehouse/freezer tasks. This role requires someone who can manage a route, pick orders accurately, load their vehicle properly, and represent a well-loved local brand professionally with customers.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, with overtime as needed
Role Breakdown
- 70% driving local delivery routes
- 20% order picking and loading in a freezer environment
- 10% customer interaction
You will be responsible for both preparing your route and delivering it, including picking orders accurately, loading your truck, completing deliveries, and handling delivery paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Execute consistent local delivery routes
- Load and deliver orders accurately and on time
- Pick and assemble orders from freezer storage
- Verify orders and complete delivery paperwork accurately
- Follow routing plans, schedules, and delivery procedures
- Perform basic vehicle inspections
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Work safely in a freezer environment using provided freezer gear
- Help with warehouse, freezer, and other distribution tasks as needed
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of route-based commercial delivery driving experience
- App-based delivery experience, such as Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, etc., does not count toward the delivery experience requirement
- Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Report
- Able to walk, stand, and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 70 lbs as needed
- Able to regularly grasp, carry, and lift items up to 15 lbs
- Able to bend, squat, and lift 25 lbs from the ground
- Occasionally able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Comfortable working in a freezer environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Able to communicate clearly in English with customers and team members
- Previous food, beverage, wholesale, or route delivery experience is a plus
- Previous Warehouse experience is a plus
