Hill View Packing Co., Inc. is a family-owned company seeking a motivated and hands-on Farm Manager to join our team at our Los Banos location.
Position Summary
The Farm Manager will be overseeing and managing day-to-day operations across multiple agricultural areas, including orchards, field crops, and related facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a leadership role within a dynamic farming operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain prune orchards, apricot orchards, and hay fields
- Research and evaluate additional crops suitable for the Los Banos farm
- Purchase, maintain, and repair farming and irrigation equipment
- Oversee receiving and grading of dried prunes
- Coordinate and work with government agencies on water and irrigation matters
- Manage operations of a 320-acre duck club
- Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and safety standards
Licensing Requirements
- Must have or be willing to obtain:
- Applicator’s license for spraying orchards and fields
- Fumigation license
- Organic Pesticide license
- Forklift certification
- Certified Welder
Qualifications
- College degree in Agriculture or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Previous agricultural work experience required
- Basic computer literacy. (Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience repairing and maintaining farm machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
