TITLE: Journeyman Electricion
LOCATION: Remote
TRAVEL: Willing to travel – 75%
Position Summary
The Journeyman leads and executes the commissioning of data center critical systems, including generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and various other specialized equipment. This individual is responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews of client design packages, monitoring and analyzing FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and First-of-Kind equipment Level 1 through 5 testing, and developing standard O&M documentation.
As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer at NETIIA Inc., your expertise is critical to our continued growth, ensuring that all testing is executed flawlessly and our clients' data centers operate at maximum operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage projects, develop execution plans, gather specifications, and oversee assignments in a multidisciplinary role for large-scale facility projects.
- Quality Control: Strict adherence to NETIIA’s thorough quality management/QC processes and procedures.
- Daily Operations: Participate in daily activity meetings covering equipment pre-start-up/start-up procedures, and the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed test procedures, logs, and equipment checklists. Write comprehensive final reports outlining functional checklists, deficiency lists, and recommendations for optimizing building operations.
- System Testing: Lead Integrated System Testing (IST) and Load Bank Testing, and compile all testing procedure results.
- Functional Testing: Develop and administer functional tests for complex electrical distribution systems, UPS topographies, and standby generators.
- Field Troubleshooting: Verify the results of test reports and provide expert field troubleshooting for commision equipment.
- Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate hands-on field experience in the operation and application of Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, data loggers, and related system testing equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience: [ 7+ years] of experience in electrical commissioning, electrical , or a related field, with a heavy focus on data center critical infrastructure or mission-critical environments.
- Education: Related technical field preferred; equivalent field experience and relevant certifications will be highly valued.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to navigate active construction sites, climb ladders, and lift/move testing equipment as required by project demands.
- Exposure to variable field and construction environments.
