Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Contractor to lead and oversee construction projects. This role is vital in ensuring that all aspects of construction are executed efficiently, safely, and within scope, budget, and schedule. As a key leader, you will deliver high-quality projects that meet or exceed expectations. Your expertise in construction management, project scheduling, and technical software will drive project success and foster strong relationships across all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
- Oversee construction estimating processes to accurately forecast costs and prepare comprehensive bids.
- Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure clear scope of work and compliance with legal requirements.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam for project documentation, tracking progress, and communication.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify project specifications and ensure accurate implementation on site.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor safety protocols, quality control, and adherence to design plans like Civil 3D models.
- Coordinate project activities across teams through effective project management practices, ensuring seamless communication and timely problem resolution.
- Oversee construction site operations including scheduling labor force deployment, material deliveries, and equipment usage.
- Maintain comprehensive records of project progress, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other documentation necessary for successful project delivery.
Experience
- Proven track record in construction management or as a general contractor with extensive hands-on experience in large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques combined with experience using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling along with familiarity with Schematics and blueprint reading for complex designs.
- Experience managing civil engineering projects utilizing Civil 3D software is highly desirable.
- Skilled in contract administration including drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts to mitigate risks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict time management discipline.
- Deep understanding of construction site safety protocols coupled with practical experience overseeing safety compliance on active sites.
- Excellent communication skills for effective project coordination among diverse teams including clients (<PERSON>), subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
