POSITION: Food Service Worker
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Demonstrated aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks listed
- Physical strength necessary to perform lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying as normally associated with the position
- CHRC Approval
REPORTS TO: Director of Food Service
WORK YEAR: Pupil days plus additional days as scheduled by the director
COMPENSATION: As per salary scale
JOB GOAL:
To serve the pupils of Orono attractive and nutritious meals in a clean and efficient environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the preparation, serving and storage of food, according to Federal HACCP guidelines, Maine State Food code and district SOPs as put forth by the director
2. Assist in the daily cleaning of the kitchen, cafeteria, food service equipment, servicing and storage areas
3. Immediately report accidents or safety concerns occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria areas to the director
4. Assist in the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, utensils and food covered surfaces
5. Demonstrate the ability to work with fellow employees
6. Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter following NSLP guidelines.
7. Responsible for processing payments and being accountable for cash in the drawer.
8. Assist in the preparation of food orders and inventories as required, receive and store food orders as per Maine food code, HACCP and district SOPs
9. Complete assigned tasks that contribute to an efficient, clean and safe food service program
10. Safe use of food service equipment as set forth in the safety guidelines and districts SOPs
11. Must maintain food safety regulations in relation to clean clothing, personal hygiene and safety to include hair nets, clean aprons and non-slip shoes.
12. Perform such other duties consistent with this position as may be assigned by the director.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.25 - $21.44 per hour
