Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing multi-specialty healthcare clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and revenue cycle management. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex MVA, Workers’ Compensation, and health insurance accounts while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Submit and manage medical claims for MVA, Workers’ Compensation, and health insurance patients
- Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing issues prior to submission
- Perform insurance follow-up, denial management, and accounts receivable activities
- Work aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Post insurance payments, patient payments, adjustments, and denials accurately
- Reconcile daily payment batches, EOBs, ERAs, and deposit reports
- Identify payment discrepancies and research missing or incorrect payments
- Manage claim corrections, appeals, and resubmissions when needed
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and referral requirements
- Communicate with insurance carriers, attorneys, adjusters, patients, and internal departments
- Review EOBs/ERAs for proper payment application and contractual adjustments
- Maintain accurate account notes and documentation
- Assist with improving billing workflows and reducing claim denials
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and healthcare compliance standards
Qualifications:
- 2+ years medical billing experience preferred
- Experience with MVA and/or Workers’ Compensation billing strongly preferred
- Previous payment posting experience required
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and insurance claim requirements
- Experience with insurance denials, appeals, AR follow-up, and collections
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and specialty billing processes
- Ability to balance payment reports and maintain accuracy with high-volume transactions
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EMR/practice management/billing software preferred

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
