Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Front of House Team Member to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring efficient food service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or retail is a plus, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary and hospitality skills while contributing to a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using Toast POS
- Prepare and serve food items according to established standards and safety protocols
- Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, processing payments, and giving change
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance guest experience and sales
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including bussing tables and sanitation practices
- Assist in food preparation when needed, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Manage time effectively during busy hours to ensure prompt service
- Support kitchen staff with basic food handling and prep tasks as required
- Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, quick service, or fast food restaurant preferred
- Knowledge of Toast POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations
- Experience with food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
- Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced setting
- Basic kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a café environment
- Flexibility to work during peak hours including weekends and holidays if needed
