Lumank Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Electrician / Medium Voltage Foreperson to oversee medium-voltage electrical infrastructure repair, maintenance, testing, and replacement projects for public agencies, utilities, industrial facilities, transportation facilities, ports, campuses, and commercial clients throughout Washington State.
This position will lead field crews performing medium-voltage cable installation, splicing, testing, switchgear maintenance, underground utility work, outage coordination, and electrical system upgrades. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with medium-voltage systems, underground distribution networks, substations, and public works projects.
The Lead Electrician will serve as the primary field supervisor responsible for safety, quality control, productivity, scheduling, and coordination with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and client representatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership
- Lead and supervise electricians, apprentices, laborers, cable splicers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower planning, and equipment utilization.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Ensure compliance with company safety programs and client requirements.
- Maintain project productivity while ensuring quality workmanship.
Medium Voltage Systems
- Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Perform work involving:
- Medium-voltage feeder cables
- Switchgear
- Protective relays
- Underground duct banks
- Electrical manholes and vaults
- Grounding and bonding systems
- Fused disconnect switches
- Metering systems
- Distribution equipment
- Coordinate cable pulling operations.
- Perform or oversee cable terminations and splicing.
- Support testing and commissioning activities.
Project Coordination
- Review drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and work plans.
- Develop cable pull plans and outage plans.
- Coordinate utility shutdowns and energization activities.
- Work with engineers, testing firms, and manufacturers.
- Track labor hours, materials, and project progress.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and Washington State electrical safety regulations.
- Implement lockout/tagout procedures.
- Manage arc-flash protection requirements.
- Coordinate confined space entry operations when required.
- Maintain documentation and safety records.
Documentation
- Complete daily reports.
- Maintain as-built redlines.
- Document inspections and testing activities.
- Support project closeout documentation.
- Assist with material tracking and procurement requests.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
- Washington State EL01 Journeyman Electrician License.
- Minimum 5 years of medium-voltage electrical experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or foreperson role.
- Experience with:
- Medium-voltage cable installations
- Cable terminations
- Cable splicing
- Underground electrical systems
- Electrical vaults and manholes
- Distribution equipment
- Utility or industrial facilities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Valid Washington Driver's License.
- Ability to pass background checks and obtain site access credentials.
Preferred
- Medium Voltage Cable Splicing Certification.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- NFPA 70E Training.
- Confined Space Entry Certification.
- First Aid / CPR Certification.
- NETA testing experience.
- Utility, transportation, industrial, marine, airport, or campus infrastructure experience.
- Public works and prevailing wage project experience.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Enter underground vaults and confined spaces when qualified.
- Climb ladders and work from lifts.
- Work occasional nights, weekends, and emergency response shifts.
- Travel to project locations throughout Western Washington.

Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
