Position: Operations Manager
Reports to: Branch Manager

Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and performance of our Houston branch operations. This position oversees the Warehouse Manager and provides direction for warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, logistics, delivery, facilities, and other operational functions. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring the operational side of the business is safe, efficient, cost-effective, and positioned to support continued growth
The Operations Manager works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Corporate HR Department, and senior management to ensure operational activities support customer needs and branch goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide overall leadership and direction for Houston branch operations.
· Directly manage and support the Warehouse Manager.
· Establish operational goals, priorities, procedures, and performance expectations.
· Evaluate current processes and implement improvements that increase productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
· Hold the Warehouse Manager accountable for warehouse productivity, order accuracy, inventory control, safety, staffing, and employee performance.
· Regularly review warehouse performance and operational challenges with the Warehouse Manager.
· Support the Warehouse Manager in resolving significant employee, workflow, inventory, safety, or service issues.
· Ensure consistent warehouse standards and procedures are maintained.
Inventory Management:
· Maintain overall responsibility for branch inventory accuracy and inventory-control procedures.
· Work with the Warehouse Manager and Purchasing to ensure proper receiving, storage, movement, and tracking of inventory.
· Review inventory discrepancies, adjustments, cycle-count results, and physical inventory results.
· Develop processes to reduce inventory errors, product damage, shrinkage, and obsolete inventory.
Logistics / Safety & Compliance:
· Ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
· Monitor freight and transportation expenses and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings.
· Ensure company vehicles and operational equipment are properly maintained.
· Maintain overall responsibility for operational safety programs and expectations.
· Ensure the Warehouse Manager consistently enforces company safety policies and procedures.
· Ensure proper training and safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and other equipment.
· Ensure operational compliance with applicable OSHA and other federal, state, and local requirements.
Other:
· Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure operations meet customer expectations.
· Work with Purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory levels and product availability.
· Help resolve significant customer concerns involving orders, inventory, shipping, or delivery.
· Provide senior management with regular reports regarding operational performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of operations, logistics, or warehouse experience.
· Minimum of 2 years of management experience, including experience managing supervisors or managers.
· Experience in industrial packaging, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
· Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
· Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, logistics, and delivery.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience with ERP, inventory management, and/or warehouse management systems.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
· Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
