American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele travel position specializing in stable trauma and surgical patient care, with Epic EMR experience required.

Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
-
Patient population includes high-volume surgical cases such as exploratory laps, hemi-colectomies, mastectomies, lap cholecystectomies, eye surgeries, trauma, and plastic surgeries, as well as lower-volume GYN procedures, palliative care, 24-hour observation, and medical overflow patients

Specializes in the care of stable trauma patients, including pre-op and post-op surgical patient care

Rapid response team utilization, blood product administration, and peripheral line care and management are required competencies

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Weekend rotation required; holiday coverage as needed

No on-call responsibilities

Floating between all system campuses may be required

Epic EMR experience required

Active NC or Compact RN license required

BLS required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR proficiency required

Experience with rapid response teams, blood product administration, and peripheral IV line management required

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply; candidates with surgical or trauma experience are preferred

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance onboarding — two attempts are allowed; study materials are not provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is enforced
