Salary: $125K – 155K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Engineering Manager - Strategic Projects: We are looking for an accomplished Engineering Manager to lead strategic projects in industrial equipment automation. This role will focus on driving innovative automation solutions in the meat processing industry by collaborating with cross-functional teams and business partners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management and equipment automation, transforming visionary concepts into successful projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager - Strategic Projects:
- Develop preliminary designs, specifications, and project cost estimates for engineering and materials.
- Conduct research, feasibility studies, and economic analyses to ensure cost-effective design solutions.
- Validate field work and create as-built drawings to document project outcomes.
- Review engineering projects for accuracy, manage project execution, and guide vendors and contractors.
- Coordinate project schedules, layouts, and utility requirements with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors.
- Review consultant work products and provide recommendations for adjustments.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including equipment manuals, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct project reviews, scope of work determinations, and vendor selection processes.
- Submit detailed reports to management and oversee contract administration and budget activities.
- Monitor installations and ensure project specifications and budgets are met.
- Continuously improve robotic and controls knowledge to deliver innovative solutions.
- Education & Experience Requirements of the Engineering Manager - Strategic Projects:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; leadership experience required.
- Experience in lay out and design, budget management, and project scheduling.
- Proficiency in engineering principles, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of engineering principles in food processing and meat industry.
- Previous experience managing multi-million dollar projects with large scopes.
- Strong project management, contract administration, and national codes interpretation skills.
