Introduction / Job Description
This position plays a major role in a guest’s dinner and/or bar experience. Consistency is key in a positive experience, achieved by always following recipes. A bartender must be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills. A bartender should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.
This job operates behind the bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Luma's/The Shuckery standards at all times
- Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes
- Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change
- Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Luma’s standards
- Wash and sterilize stemware
- Offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it
- Count drinks guests are served
- Place current bar tabs in front of guests at all times
- Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks
- Anticipate your guest’s needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, making eye contact, etc.), and acknowledge the guest to let them know the bartender will be right with them
- Serve alcohol responsibly
Requirements
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience working in a restaurant
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, and familiarity with standard drink recipes
- Walk and stand during entire shift
- Be able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Be able to manipulate fingers, hands and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe
- Be able to hear and talk
- Good close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus between the two

We are searching for an experienced waiter/server to join our team! Looking for someone who is energetic and loves taking care of guests. We want a detailed oriented person with ability to multitask in a calm and collected manner and who will create a memorable experience for our guests in order to ensure their return.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preps section and readies for service
- Guides each guest through the menu, offering suggestions that cater to the guests needs or that feature what we do best
- Be mindful and ensure that each order sent to the kitchen takes into account any dietary or allergy restrictions
- Pace each course and keep lines of communication open with the kitchen chef or expediter
- Read each table and guest and anticipate their needs
- Perform table maintenance by clearing courses as necessary; replacing utensils; ensuring water glasses stay full; being present and aware in order to assist with any spills or special requests
- Deliver check and process payment in a timely manner, thank guests and ask that they return
- Participate in running sidework throughout the shift, running food or drinks, assisiting in pre-bussing tables, sweeping floors, helping teammates
Requirements
- We prefer at least 1 year restaurant experience
- Working knowledge of various POS systems
- Must be able to stand on feet for at least 6 hours
