Company Description: ACS Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems and skids. We have one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC. and is now expanding its operations to a 325,000 square foot facility in Clearfield, Utah.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the QA Supervisor, the Electrical Quality Control Inspector ensures all electrical systems and components meet customer specifications, applicable codes, and internal standards. This role involves detailed inspections, testing, documentation, and collaboration with engineering and production teams to uphold quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Testing:
· Conduct detailed inspections of electrical systems including wiring, terminations, conduit installations, control panels, and switchgear
· Perform functional testing of electrical systems including continuity, insulation resistance, loop checks, and grounding verification
· Inspect and verify compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, IEEE, and other applicable standards
· Validate proper installation and labeling of electrical components, including sensors, relays, breakers, and transformers
· Review and verify torque specifications on electrical connections using calibrated tools
Documentation & Reporting:
· Complete inspection reports, punch lists, and quality control checklists
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports
· Assist in the creation and review of as-built documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM)
· Support the calibration program by verifying calibration status and documentation of test equipment
Technical Review & Support:
· Interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings
· Participate in engineering design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and code compliance
· Ensure proper implementation across production teams
· Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning for electrical-related issues
Compliance & Safety:
· Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal regulations
· Prepare for and support customer witness inspections and factory acceptance tests
· Promote and enforce safety standards including PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and arc flash awareness
Collaboration & Training:
· Provide feedback to electricians and production teams regarding workmanship and code compliance
· Assist in training initiatives for proper electrical installation techniques and quality standards
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and shop leaders to resolve quality issues and improve processes
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
· Strong understanding of low, medium, and high voltage systems
· Experience with switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, and control systems
· Ability to program and test level sensors, panel meters, and other instrumentation
· Familiarity with grounding systems, bonding, and surge protection
· Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
· Skilled in using multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and other electrical test equipment
· Ability to read and interpret electrical symbols, one-line diagrams, and ladder logic
Physical Requirements:
· Able to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise
· Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and working at heights over 18 feet
· Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) and color differentiation required
· Must be able to stoop, bend, climb, kneel, and reach as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred
· Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems fabrication, installation, or inspection
· Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, NFPA, IEEE)
· Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
· English proficiency required; Spanish bilingual is a plus
