Medical Director – Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for our Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC). This role leads a multidisciplinary medical team delivering integrated behavioral health services for individuals and families impacted by mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring needs.
The Medical Director will play a key role in advancing a community-based model of care that improves access to outpatient treatment, crisis services, medication management, and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), while promoting quality, safety, and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and medical leadership for CBHC programs, including outpatient services, crisis response, stabilization services, and psychiatric care.
- Supervise and support physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services that meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provide clinical consultation, mentorship, and guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, risk management activities, and performance improvement efforts.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and use data to improve access, care delivery, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, state agencies, payers, and community partners.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, cultural humility, and person-centered care.
Qualifications
- MD required.
- Board certification in Psychiatry and active medical licensure in Massachusetts required.
- DEA certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related clinical setting, including at least 5 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Experience treating individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience overseeing or providing Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral health systems, MassHealth, managed care practices, and community-based services.
