Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preadmission Testing Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for upcoming procedures and surgeries by conducting comprehensive preoperative history assessments, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete, and providing patient education to promote comfort and understanding. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre admission patient history via phone interview utilizing advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system.
- Determine needed testing and needed clearance prior to patient scheduled surgery to ensure patient is appropriate candidate for ambulatory surgery.
- Coordinate and gather all needed medical documentation prior to scheduled surgery.
- Educate patients about upcoming procedures as indicated to foster informed decision-making.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless and safe patient care.
Experience
- Valid RN license with current registration in applicable state(s).
- Proven experience working in medical-surgical units or hospital medicine environments; ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Experience in diverse clinical settings including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery centers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with a broad range of specialties including emergency medicine, occupational health, infectious disease care, geriatrics (including MDS), pediatric nursing (including neonatal ventilator management), hospice & palliative medicine or behavioral health enhances your candidacy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to anatomy, physiology and diagnostic evaluation techniques is essential.
- Strong skills in taking patient histories via phone conversations is required.

Pay: $26.00 - $45.00 per hour
