Immediate Opening: Direct Support Professional (Part-Time, 1099 Contractor)
Full Potential Adult Autism Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support to two adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities living independently in the Scranton area.
This position offers approximately 25 hours per week by combining hours between two individuals who are both highly independent and require support focused on community participation, daily living skills, organization, self-advocacy, and maintaining their independence.
Schedule:
- Days: Monday - Friday (weekend hours available if interested)
- Hours: Daytime Hours, approximately 25 hours/week
- Some flexibility is available
Individuals Served
Male Participant
- Lives independently in his own home.
- Benefits from support with community involvement, life skills development, and maintaining daily routines.
Female Participant
- Lives independently in her own home.
- Highly independent but experiences visual impairments and may require assistance with navigation, accessing information, and completing certain daily living skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support in home and community settings.
- Assist participants with achieving personal goals and maintaining independence.
- Support community engagement, recreational activities, and social opportunities.
- Assist with budgeting, shopping, meal planning, and other daily living skills as needed.
- Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities.
- Encourage self-advocacy, decision-making, and personal growth.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow agency policies and individual support plans.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting adults with disabilities is preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must obtain Spectrum 2.0 certification (free training available through MyODP prior to start date)
