Position Summary:
The Field Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, as well as applicable state and federal safety regulations across assigned construction projects. This role supports project teams by conducting safety audits, providing training, enforcing safety standards, and promoting a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Audits:
- Conduct regular construction site safety inspections and audits.
- Participate in project startup and handoff processes, including site preparation and team onboarding.
- Document inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures, forms, and inspections.
- Ensure job sites are equipped with required safety equipment, PPE, first aid supplies, potable water, and other necessary resources.
- Assist with incident investigations and near-miss reporting.
- Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform scheduled and requested safety audits for assigned projects.
Training & Development:
- Deliver safety training programs for field personnel on topics including:
o OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Training
o First Aid/CPR/AED
o Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Aerial Lift Safety
o Fall Protection
o Confined Space Safety
o Heat Stress Prevention
o NFPA 70E Electrical Safety
o Ladder and Power Tool Safety
- Maintain training records and certifications.
- Attend and represent the company at project safety meetings.
Safety Support & Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to field leadership teams on workplace safety practices.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
- Conduct technical safety monitoring and testing as required.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all assigned projects.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with field personnel, project managers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted safety resource and support partner for project teams.
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910).
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E standards.
- Experience with safety management systems, databases, and training platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project demands.
- Comfortable presenting training programs to both small and large groups.
- Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
Education & Experience:
- Must meet NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Qualified Person criteria.
- Minimum of 2 years of construction site safety coordination experience.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects preferred.
Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
