Summary
Under the direction of the Preschool Supervisor, the Preschool Aftercare Assistant Teacher is responsible to provide a fun and safe environment for the afterschool care of preschool aged children. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the supervision of the children in the program's care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising children and presenting a positive role model through interactions with program participants
- Assist in daily activities and snack time
- Encourage a positive environment that fosters mutual support and the desire to learn and grow
- Assist the Lead Teacher with the curriculum, activities and the cleanliness of the room
- Participate in the arrival and the dismissal of the children
- Assist and monitor the children during the program hours
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year prior child care experience, school age preferred
- Experience with special needs children
- Bi-lingual is a plus
- Reliable Transportation is encouraged
