Job Overview
*This is a total care LIVE-IN position* You must have experience caring for 6 total care residents in a residential setting! You will work 3-4 days a week 24 hours, all housing and utilities included. Pay ranges $2500-$3000 per month. The Resident Care Specialist plays a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to residents in a group home or assisted living environment. This position is responsible for supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in memory care and personal care home settings, demonstrating a commitment to resident rights and dignity.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. *Must know how to cook*
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication administration protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support residents with memory care needs by engaging them in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging social interaction and participation in group activities.
- Document resident care activities accurately and maintain up-to-date records of each resident's needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans that respect resident rights and preferences.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and emergencies, ensuring a supportive atmosphere at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home community care, assisted living, or similar settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques and best practices for supporting individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of dignity in care provision.
- Ability to perform light cleaning duties as part of maintaining a safe living environment for residents.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
