We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a high-energy, high-volume defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, organized, and trial-tested paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in helping attorneys deliver outstanding client service.
The ideal candidate will have substantial defense-side litigation experience, including preparing for and attending multiple trials. This role requires the ability to independently manage a docket of approximately 70–100 active cases while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and attention to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, medical records, experts, mediation, trial preparation, in-court support during trial, and post-trial follow-up.
· Monitor court deadlines, docket control orders, discovery deadlines, expert designations, and trial settings.
· Draft, review, and coordinate discovery requests, responses, subpoenas, settlement releases, and correspondence.
· Communicate professionally with clients, experts, witnesses, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
· Maintain well-organized electronic case files and ensure attorneys have timely, accurate case information.
Qualifications
· Significant experience as a litigation paralegal in a defense practice is required.
· Demonstrated experience preparing for and attending multiple trials from the defense side.
· Proven ability to manage a large caseload, prioritize competing deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery practice, trial preparation, and court filing requirements.
· Excellent organizational, communication, writing, proofreading, and follow-through skills.
· Comfort working in a high-energy, deadline-driven environment with a strong team-oriented approach.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, Adobe Acrobat Pro, document production litigation support tools, and document sharing/transfer tools and security.
· Paralegal certificate, degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently with multiple attorneys and other legal support staff on the team. Must be able to work without supervision as well as accept instruction. Our firm does go to trial.
