Safely operate a vehicle (with or without trailer) / equipment.
Ability to follow County and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Performs skilled electrical building maintenance activities while operating various tools and equipment, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing tools, HVAC and electrical testing equipment and related equipment, as required. The person in this position will work with a variety of chemicals including cleaning products, solvents, glues, etc.
Electrical - Performs a variety of electrical repair and maintenance tasks; repairs, replaces, and maintains electrical wiring, fuses, switches, motors, generators, lighting systems, and other electrical fixtures and equipment; installs conduits, wires, pull boxes, and switches required in making additions, extensions, or alterations in electrical systems; identifies damaged or worn electrical components and takes corrective action as assigned under the requirements of the National Electrical Code and other codes, as required.
Plumbing - Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and a variety of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
HVAC - Installs, maintains and repairs HVAC systems and HVAC related components such as temperature and humidity sensors, duct work, diffusers, motors, fans, controls and similar items as well as use of testing equipment.
Carpentry - Performs carpentry related tasks; makes repairs to tile and carpet as necessary; makes repairs on doors, windows, floors, gates, roofs, and ceilings; repairs, installs, and constructs furniture, shelves, cabinets, countertops, and other wood equipment and fixtures.
Painting - Paints facilities and equipment; prepares surfaces for painting; applies paint to building interiors, fixtures, equipment or exterior; strip, paint or stain cabinets, doors, and woodwork.
Performs general building maintenance, janitorial, grounds, weather related duties including snow/ice removal and other facilities maintenance related duties as assigned.
Performs a variety of semi-skilled plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical activities associated with the maintenance and repair of facilities that is outside of their area of expertise.
Sets up and takes down equipment in support of County programs as approved by the Facility Manager
Maintains digital records of activities including preventative maintenance services and service requests.
This position requires wearing a supplied uniform consisting of long pants and long and/or short-sleeve shirts
This position requires the use of closed toe and closed back shoes that support the ankle
This position has been identified as having the potential for exposure to Hepatitis B. Access to training and a voluntary vaccination against Hepatitis B is provided.
This position requires lengthy hours on your feet, bending, twisting, reaching, turning, walking forward, backward and to either side, pushing, pulling, grasping, tactual manipulation with hands, repetitive motions, kneeling on one or both knees, while working in the following environments: office, kitchen, gymnasium, library, classroom, detention and shelter environments, maintenance and mechanical areas, outside grounds, sidewalk, parking and driveway areas, and on the roof of buildings up to 135 feet above ground.
This position requires lifting up to 75 pounds to waist height, 50 pounds to shoulder height and 40 pounds above the head.
This position generally works in an environment that is maintained between 66 and 76 degrees.
This position may be subject to working in an environment that is below freezing and more than 77 degrees with high humidity and during times of active weather events such as, but not limited to, rain and snow from time to time depending on the task assigned.
This position is exposed to the potential of bodily fluids including, but not limited to blood, urine, feces, vomit, and saliva.
