Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in commercial or institutional settings. This vital role ensures that facilities such as healthcare centers, office buildings, educational institutions, or other large-scale environments remain safe, hygienic, and welcoming for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Use chemical agents safely for cleaning and sanitation purposes, following all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to prevent hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming using specialized floor care equipment.
- Restock supplies like paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials to ensure continuous availability.
- Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling and environmental services to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Support infection prevention efforts by adhering to healthcare facilities housekeeping standards and sanitation procedures.
- Respond promptly to specific cleaning requests from staff or management with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Document completed tasks accurately in logs or reports for accountability and compliance purposes.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or healthcare settings is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling and manual lifting practices is essential.
- Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control protocols is advantageous.
- Knowledge of proper use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and chemical dispensers is required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in sanitation tasks.
- Previous experience working in hospital environments or large institutional facilities will be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors about cleanliness standards.
