Job Title: Senior Center Events & Facilities Assistant (Part-Time)
Department: Senior Center
Pay Grade: 9 non-exempt
Major Function and Purpose: The Events & Facilities Assistant is a part-time FLSA non-exempt position. The Events & Facilities Assistant provides essential support for all programs, special events, light maintenance, food service, and administrative tasks at the Temple Senior Center. This role ensures smooth operations and a safe, welcoming environment, enhancing the overall experience for members and staff. The Event & Facilities Assistant will perform all duties described herein at the discretion of the Senior Center Director and the City Administrator.
Supervision Received: Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Programming and Development Senior Center.
Essential Job Functions
· Assist with setup, cleanup, and breakdown for programs, events, and activities.
· Provide light maintenance support, including cleaning, organizing, and minor repairs as needed.
· Support food service operations, including meal preparation assistance, serving, and cleanup.
· Provide administrative support, such as filing, copying, data entry, and helping with program registration.
· Monitor and ensure the safety of members in program spaces and outdoor areas.
· Maintain organized storage of program materials, supplies, and equipment.
· Report any facility, safety, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
· Drive and manage the Center bus for events, special activities, and outings.
· Complete additional task as requested.
Desired Education and Knowledge
· High School Diploma/GED
· Basic knowledge of office equipment and machines, including personal computers
· Valid Georgia Driver’s License
· Clean MVR

TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements:Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which include computers, printers, fax machines, copy machines, telephones, etc. Must be able to move and carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to thirty pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds frequently.
Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or assistants.
Intelligence Requires the ability to learn and understand relatively complex principles and techniques; to make independent judgments without supervision; to acquire knowledge of topics related to the primary occupation.
Verbal Aptitude:Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Motor Coordination:Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes using automated office equipment to operate motor vehicles.
Interpersonal Temperament:Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. The worker needs to relate to people in situations that involve more than just giving or receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under minimal stress when confronted with an emergency.
Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk and/or hear: (talking- expressing or exchanging ideas employing spoken words.) (Hearing- perceiving natures of sounds by ear.)

Pay: $13.73 - $21.39 per hour
