Job Summary
Established general practice in San Jose located near Willow Glen has an immediate opening for a dynamic and detail-oriented Temporary Dental Receptionist / Front Desk to join our dental practice to cover an employee going on maternity leave until November.
Office hours are Tuesday - Thursday, 8-5. (working hours are flexible)
We are open one Saturday per month, closed the Friday before.
In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all patients.
This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in dental office management and health information systems while supporting our team during a busy period.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake, check-in, and check-out processes
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems such as Dentrix
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental practice management software like Dentrix
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately
- Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in medical records and dental charts
- Assist with billing procedures and processing payments
- Maintain organized filing of patient records, dental charts, and administrative documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support the clinic’s daily operations by managing medical records, appointment reminders, and care plan documentation
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and effective communication across departments
Skills
- Experience in dental office with familiarity in dental terminology and coding
- Strong knowledge of Dentrix is highly preferred
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to navigate health information management systems efficiently while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes
- Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinic experience to facilitate accurate communication with patients and staff
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
