Stainless Steel Hand Grinder
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Stainless Steel Hand Grinder to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for grinding, polishing, and finishing stainless steel components to meet quality and appearance standards. The ideal candidate has experience using hand grinding tools, understands metal finishing techniques, and can work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hand grinders, sanders, polishers, and related finishing tools on stainless steel products
- Grind welds, smooth surfaces, and remove imperfections from fabricated metal parts
- Polish stainless steel to specified finishes, including brushed, satin, or mirror finishes
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and finishing requirements
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper PPE usage
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Assist fabrication and welding teams as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in metal grinding, polishing, fabrication, or stainless steel finishing preferred
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Knowledge of stainless steel surface finishes and grinding techniques
- Ability to read tape measures and basic shop drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills
- Experience with TIG weld cleanup and blending
- Familiarity with manufacturing or fabrication shop environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
- Exposure to dust, noise, sparks, and metal materials
- PPE required, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday
- Overtime may be required based on production demands
