SolBe Learning is hiring Apprentice Educators for our infant and young toddler classrooms (ages 6 weeks–2 years) starting this fall. We're looking for warm, reliable people who want hands-on experience in early childhood education — no experience required, we'll train the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Provide responsive, respectful care for children in your designated group, including emotional support, diaper-changing/toileting, dressing, feeding, and comfort
- Collaborate with the classroom team on a weekly curriculum that supports children's growth, self-expression, and social development
- Complete developmental assessments using observational tools and documentation; communicate progress to families
- Use Brightwheel (our classroom management app) to log attendance, activities, and daily updates for parents
- Engage in regular, respectful communication with families, including conferences and classroom displays
- Light custodial duties (sweeping, sanitizing surfaces/equipment, laundry)
- Complete 20 hours of annual training as required by DEEC/EEC, and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification
Qualifications:
- Patience, warmth, and genuine comfort with hands-on infant/toddler care
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong communication with families and colleagues
- Experience with or coursework in early childhood education is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, not required
- Must pass a EEC background check and reference verification
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 35+ lbs and push a crib/stroller with 80–100 lbs of weight
- Ability to stand, stoop, climb, reach, and move repetitively throughout a shift
- Ability to respond quickly in an emergency
- Comfort with universal precautions around exposure to bodily fluids
