Key Responsibilities
As an Optometric Technician, you will play an important role in helping provide a smooth and positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering phones and scheduling patient appointments
- Verifying patient insurance and eligibility
- Entering patient information into our electronic health record system
- Preparing patients for eye examinations through diagnostic pre-testing
- Assisting doctors and staff in a multi-doctor optometric practice
- Checking out patients, processing payments, and scheduling follow-up visits
- Helping ensure an organized, efficient patient flow throughout the day
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who is:
- Friendly and professional with patients
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy medical office
- Interested in learning new technology and skills
- A strong team player
Skills & Qualifications
Preferred but not required:
- Certified Paraoptometric (CPO)
- 1–2 years of experience in an optometry or medical practice
Required:
- Comfort using computers and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Ability to learn electronic health record systems
- Willingness to learn insurance verification and diagnostic equipment
Training will be provided for motivated candidates.
Schedule
Flexible scheduling as part of a collaborative team.
Typical coverage needed:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday (Evenings)
- Friday
- Rotating Saturdays (every other)
Office Hours:
- Monday – Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday:9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
