The Charlottesville Free Clinic is a vibrant non-profit that plays a critical and unique role in our community. For over 33 years, we have provided free, high-quality healthcare to thousands of working, uninsured, and underinsured adults in the greater Charlottesville area, serving as a vital resource for those in need.
The Free Clinic is seeking a Pharmacy Manager who is responsible for oversight of all pharmacy operations to ensure the Free Clinic pharmacy is operating safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Reports to the Manager and the Director of the Medical Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Manage pharmacy operations
- Train and supervise pharmacy volunteers
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise Pharmacists
- Manage and collaborate with the pharmacy coordinator
- Manage clinical pharmacy operations to promote optimum medication therapy management and maximize cost saving
- Oversee evening pharmacy operations
- Maintain formulary and make recommendations for changes to the Medical Advisory Committee
- Order drugs and pharmacy supplies
- Under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in- Charge, assure that the clinic operates within all legally required guidelines relating to pharmacy regulations
- Maximize the number of donated medications
- Provide support/training/supervision for the PAP operations
- Ensure effective utilization of PAP and Rx Partnerships, including program updates and downloads
- Assure that all Pharmacy Techs achieve and maintain the necessary certification and keep appropriate documentation
- Coordinate with daytime and evening pharmacy volunteers to assure that pharmacy services are delivered efficiently and effectively
- Keep the Pharmacist in Charge updated and engaged in pharmacy matters
- Fill medications written on CFC prescription pads
- Oversee the refill request line and online refill requests
- Become proficient with the pharmacy software program, BestRX
- Maintain the pharmacy computer software program to include updates of information, back up, correct information regarding generic and brand names of drugs and revision of any other information
- Collect and appropriately record (on chart and in pharmacy and patient database) annual income verification for all patients
- Gather pharmacy information needed for reports
- Keep pharmacy area clean, tidy and organized
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and an EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
- Demonstrated managerial skills in inventory management, staff training, and operational oversight.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
