We are looking for an upbeat quick learner to work both day and evening shifts. You will assist Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts hotel and resort guests by registering & assigning rooms & day passes to arriving guests, issuing room keys, transmitting & receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms & guests' accounts, and presenting statements to & collecting payments from departing guests.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Act as first point of contact to guests and visitors
- Greet, register and assign rooms to guests of the resort
- Verify customers' credit and establish how the customer will pay for their accommodation
- Maintain records of room availability and guests' accounts
- Compute bills, collect payments, and make changes for guests
- Perform simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts
- Issue room keys and escort instructions to Guest services team members as required
- Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process
- Post charges (e.g. for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls) to ledgers
- Transmit and receive messages using telephone and email systems
- Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance staff when guest issues need addressing
- Make and confirm reservations (if needed) or refer appropriately to Reservations team
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, as well as local information (e.g. shopping, dining, entertainment, travel directions)
- Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to appropriate managers as necessary for resolution
- Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
