We are seeking a passionate and skilled PART TIME Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with attention to detail and presentation.
- Follow established recipes and menu guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Handle food safely and hygienically in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient ordering to ensure freshness and availability of supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service periods.
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet safety standards, including knife skills for precise slicing and portioning.
Skills
- Extensive experience in sushi preparation, including knife skills and fish handling techniques.
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of food safety protocols.
- Proven restaurant or fine dining experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine or similar culinary styles.
- Strong food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly skills within a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to plan menus creatively while adhering to dietary restrictions or guest preferences.
