Lewis Central Community School District is looking for a High School Assistant Swimming Coach for the 2026-27 School Year. This activity's expected time commitment for working is August-November. Some additional time may be required outside of this timeframe and will be determined and communicated by the Activities Director.
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Activities Director and Head Swimming Coach, an Assistant Swimming Coach's primary responsibilities is to lead and develop students in extra-curricular, and in some instances, co-curricular activities to help achieve both individual and program success.
Essential Functions

Develop and implement effective program that in some assignments focus on skill development, teamwork, and well-rounded students.

Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants, fostering their personal and extra-curricular growth.

Plan and execute practice sessions as necessary.

Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.

Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.

Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as requested.

Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state policies.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding activities, schedules, and expectations.

Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.

Attend, support and supervise students at competitions, performances, and other related events.
Travel Requirements:
Depending on the assignment, this position may be required to travel to all related events and in some instance operate a school vehicle to transport student-participants to events.
