Job Title: Maintenance Electrical Technician.
Department: Maintenance.
Reports To: Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility. This position ensures production equipment operates safely and effectively while minimizing downtime through preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance while following applicable safety standards and electrical codes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensuring health and safety is the number one goal by following safety procedures and processes.
· Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
· Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
· Install, maintain, and repair motors, starters, relays, transformers, disconnects, and distribution systems.
· Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment and automated machinery.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
· Install and troubleshoot VFDs, soft starters, sensors, and control devices.
· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
· Calibrate instrumentation and process controls.
· Troubleshoot control circuits using diagnostic equipment.
· Maintain lighting panels, breakers, and facility electrical infrastructure.
· Assist with installation of new equipment and facility upgrades.
· Ability to use scissor lifts or other types of aerial work.
· Ability to check out and operate different types of forklifts.
· Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties.
· Replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, gears, sprockets and couplings.
· Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication as required.
· Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
· Maintain housekeeping and 5S Standards.
· Document work in the CMMS.
· Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvements.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· 5 or more years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
· Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems.
· Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, and technical equipment manuals and make recommendations for repairs.
· Ability to run conduit and pull wire of different sizes.
· Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
· Basic computer skills and CMMS experience.
· Ability to maintain attention to detail.
· Must be capable and willing to train Maintenance Personnel in all areas of General Maintenance.
· Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written and be to communicate with your team.
Physical Requirements:
· Lift up to 50 lbs.
· Climb ladders and work at heights with fall protection.
· Stand, kneel, crawl, bend, and work in an industrial environment.
· Work overtime and on call as needed.
Pay: $30.34 - $36.54 per hour
