Wages commensurate with experience. Most schedules are between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm M-F. No nights or weekends.

About the Job:
CIMA is searching for a medical assistant for our Main location, and a medical assistant to float between our 5 locations within the greater Lansing area. Our Medical Assistants serve as the first clinical point of contact for patients, and ensure that patients receive efficient, safe, effective, high quality, compassionate care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and prepare patients by verifying information, obtaining medical history and vitals, as well as confirming the reason for the visit.
- Documents all vitals, test/lab results, medications, correspondence, and other relevant information in the patient's electronic medical record
- Prepares examination room and assists Provider with exams, procedures, and administration of new and refill medications
- Monitors voicemail and patient portal; responds to patient questions and concerns.
- Responds to requests for medication fills and refills by communicating with pharmacy and/or patient
- Adheres and upholds professional standards, CIMA policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, HIPAA Rule compliance, OSHA safety standards and practice protocols
- Travels between offices as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Medical Assistant certification or registration, or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Prior MA experience (strongly preferred)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
Physical Working Conditions:
- Prolonged sitting and standing
- Frequent use of hands to hold, grasp, turn
- Frequent communication, commonly talking, hearing, keyboarding
